About
The Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) is France’s largest public research organization and one of the world’s leading institutions for scientific and technological innovation. Operating under the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research, CNRS comprises over 1,000 research units across disciplines and is a major contributor to both fundamental and applied research.
Within CNRS, the Institute of Pharmacology and Structural Biology (IPBS)—a joint research unit with the University of Toulouse—hosts over 250 staff and is internationally recognized for its excellence in cancer, infection, and inflammation research. Its Proteomics Group, ProteoToul, led by Dr. Odile Schiltz, manages the Toulouse Proteomics Facility and plays a key role in the national proteomics infrastructure (ProFI), focusing on methodological advances in large-scale and structural mass spectrometry.
CNRS has a long-standing record of leadership in EU-funded training networks, including coordination of numerous MSCA projects. At IPBS, 11 European projects are currently running, including 3 MSCA Doctoral Networks. CNRS continues to play a pivotal role in interdisciplinary training through national schools, European training events, and expert supervision in bioinformatics and proteomics.
